What is the Baruch College – Faculty/Staff Remote Access portal?
We’re excited to announce the expanded re-launch of the Faculty/Staff Remote Access platform, formerly known as ‘VDI’ or ‘OnlineLabs.’
This enhanced platform is designed to make it easier for faculty and staff to securely and conveniently access campus-only applications, services,’ and information—from anywhere, on any device. By using this platform, you do not need to be on VPN/Global Protect.
Disclaimer: Do Not Save Files Locally
Please save any files you create or work on during your Remote Access session to Dropbox or One Drive. Files created during your Remote Access session are not stored permanently; they will be deleted when the session restarts or ends. Please save any files created during your Remote Access sessions to one of these options before exiting.
Password Change
On or about 12/20/2024, BCTC notified all staff and faculty that they were required to change their password. If you have not changed your password before 12/24/2024 at 6:00PM your account will be disabled. In the event your account is disabled, please submit a service request at https://cunyithelp.cuny.edu/csp to re-enable your account.
How do I access the Baruch College Faculty/Staff Remote Access portal?
(instructions are the same for both Windows and Mac devices)
- Open your browser
- Go to Baruch College – Faculty/Staff Remote Access and log in using your Baruch faculty or staff credentials (e.g., first initial last name).
What credentials do I use to log in?
- Use your Baruch College faculty or staff username and password. This is typically in the first initial last name format (e.g., JSmith for John Smith).
Set Up Microsoft Authenticator (One-Time Step)
What is Microsoft Authenticator, and why do I need it?
- Microsoft Authenticator adds a secure layer of verification to your login. You’ll set up the Authenticator app on your first login, generating a unique 6-digit PIN for each login.
How do I set up the Microsoft Authenticator app?
- When logging in for the first time, you’ll be prompted to set up Microsoft Authenticator. Follow the instructions on the screen to scan the QR code or enter the unique 25-character key.
- Note: This is a one-time setup unless you change devices or reset the app.
- When complete, you should see an entry in your Microsoft Authenticator app titled “Baruch_College_VDI”
- The 6-digit code for this entry (Baruch_College_VDI) should be entered into the OTP field on the Logon screen.
How often does the 6-digit PIN change?
- The 6-digit PIN in Microsoft Authenticator refreshes every 30 seconds.

- On your first login, you may receive a prompt asking if you’d like to “Keep Using Web” or “Detect Client.”
- Select “Keep Using Web.”
