during the upgrade.
· Each college’s FACTS data will not be refreshed until after the DegreeWorks upgrade has been completed.

Tumbleweed system, Out of Service, Friday, May 10, 2024
CUNY’s Tumbleweed secure file transfer system will be upgraded on Friday, May 10, 2024 to enhance security and functionality. The Tumbleweed environment will not be available during this upgrade, 9:00am to 2:00pm.
Owners of accounts that download data from Tumbleweed are encouraged to complete all file transfers before the system is taken offline at 9:00 AM for the upgrade.
After the upgrade is completed at 2:00pm, owners of accounts that run automated processes should test to ensure transfers are successfully executed.

4-digit extension calls from the North Campus to the South Campus are not currently working. Calls from South Campus to North Campus are working. Calls to South Campus from external numbers are working. Users who need to call South Campus from North Campus can use the 10-digit number to place the call at this time. We are investigating.
South Campus Connectivity Issue, September 27th
From approximately 1:30-2:15pm on September 27th network connectivity to South Campus buildings (17 Lex, Admin Building, and Real Estate building) was disrupted by a transient configuration issue. The issue was resolved and service restored by 2:15pm.
M365 Basic Authentication disabled August 1st
CUNY has disabled basic authentication to all Microsoft 365 services effective August 1st. While faculty and staff logins were already set for modern authentication only, the August 1st change also affects all students using Baruchmail. This will cause legacy apps to not be able to authenticate. POP and IMAP access is still enabled for applications supporting modern authentication. Enforcing modern authentication will also mean that multifactor authentication (MFA) will also be enforced for all logins for students.. This is a necessary change to reduce the amount of spam and phishing messages coming from Baruchmail accounts, and is in anticipation of Microsoft removing basic authentication entirely on October 1st.

In addition, all VPN connections that are active at that time will be disconnected and will need to be reestablished. - CIS will be performing network maintenance on Saturday, February 6th from 10 AM to 4 PM. Campus network may experience intermittent access to the Internet and CUNY hosted applications.
- CUNY/CIS has resolved the issue affecting some users authenticating to Zoom that have multiple campus affiliations. Users should be experiencing expected authentication results. Please note that users who activated their accounts at one campus then transferred to another will have to “accept” the account transfer by clicking the e-mail from ZOOM. Some users with multiple affiliations may also receive a transfer authorization e-mail because the “Primary Affiliation” attribute for campus sub-group assignment is being used instead of whichever one matches first.
- CUNY/CIS will be performing maintenance on the following applications on Monday, February 8th, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- CIS will be performing network maintenance on Thursday, February 11th between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. We might have intermittent access to the Internet and CUNY hosted service.

- CUNYfirst Reporting Instance – CUNY is working with their hosting partner to resolve an issue with Scheduled Queries in the Reporting Instance. BCTC is currently monitoring this situation and will provide updates as they become available.
- CUNY/CIS and the vendor continues to investigate the intermittent access issues with the Everbridge mobile application, displaying a “Service Unavailable” message. As a work-around, the vendor recommends to uninstall the Everbridge mobile application then re-install it, in order to log-in. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
- On Saturday, February 20, 2021, between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM, CIS will be performing maintenance on CUNY’s Degree Works environment. Users will not be able to access the application during this maintenance window.

- Everbridge has identified and resolved the issue with delayed notification delivery. The Everbridge application is now processing normally. CUNY/CIS will continue to monitor the application. Please open a CRM case with your campus help desk if you experience any further issues.

CUNY/CIS has resolved the issue affecting users from signing into applications that are Single Sign-On (SSO) dependent. Single Sign-On will continued to be monitored through-out the day. - Monday, March 8, 2021. We are running critical security patches on our email servers. We do not anticipate any downtime, but users might experience some intermittent service disruptions.
- Maintenance – Blackboard – beginning at 2AM on Friday March 12th, 2021 On Friday, March 12th, 2021, between the hours of 02.00 AM and 6.00 AM, Blackboard Managed Hosting will be performing emergency maintenance in the data center where CUNY’s Blackboard environment is hosted. Please note, the application will be unavailable during this maintenance window.
- CUNY/CIS is investigating reports of intermittent network performance affecting users. CUNY/CIS is investigating reports of a wide-spread internet outage. Further information will be provided as it becomes available. The intermittent network service disruptions appear to be carrier related with Verizon customers experiencing the most serve impact.
- March 15, 2021, CIS has received reports that some users are unable to connect to meetings or calls with Microsoft Teams.
CIS is investigating this and will provide an update as soon there is additional information. - On Saturday, March 20, between 7:00 am & 7:00 pm, and Sunday, March 21, between 7:00 am & 7:00 pm, CUNY-CIS will be performing maintenance on the CIS-hosted CUNY Staff & Faculty email and messaging infrastructure. During this maintenance window, messaging services and access using Outlook Anywhere, OWA, and mobile devices to the
- CUNYfirst will be unavailable from 8 pm on Wednesday, March 24 to 12 noon on Sunday, March 28 as it is migrated to the CUNY data center. During this migration, CUNYfirst will not be available to users, and overnight data transfers will not occur. Other applications, such as Blackboard, will remain available through the CUNY Login page. Additional reminders will be sent the day of the migration.

- Multi-factor Authentication starting the week of April 12, 2021
On the week of April 12, 2021, the BCTC department will be enabling Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) for all Student Microsoft Office 365 accounts. MFA will add a second layer of protection that requires students to prove their identity before they are granted access to their email account. More information about this enhancement can be found here. - The BCTC department will be performing maintenance to the Kace application beginning at 7:00 pm on Thursday 4/1/2021, concluding at 8:00 am on Friday 04/02/2021. During this time, the Help Desk ticking system will be unavailable.
- Kace Maintenance beginning at 7:00 pm on Friday 04/02/2021 The BCTC department will be performing some additional maintenance on the Kace application. This work will begin at 7:00 pm on 4/2/2021 and finish at 8:00 am on 4/3/2021. During this time, the Help Desk will be unavailable.

- Service Alert [Resolved]: Blackboard Intermittent Performance Issues 04/06/21 – The Blackboard performance issue has been resolved. CIS and Blackboard Managed Hosting are monitoring the environment. If your users are still experiencing any performance issues, please open a CRM case and contact the CIS Service Desk as soon as possible.
- Maintenance – CUNYFirst — AMS will be preforming routine maintenance from Saturday April 24th at 7:00 PM until Sunday April 25th at 7:00 PM. CUNYFirst will be unavailable during this time.
- Kace Server Maintenance – Completed 4/23/2021 – Maintenance to the Kace server has been completed. The Help Desk is back online.

- Maintenance to the Baruch Online Labs, https://onlinelabs.baruch.cuny.edu/ has been completed. The online labs are back up and available for use.
- On Monday, June 14th, between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm, the BCTC department will be performing maintenance on HRAssist, PRAssist, and the grade change applications. These applications will be unavailable during this time.
- Access has now been restored to Outlook Web Access (OWA). CIS will monitor the performance throughout the day. 06/14/21.

- June 7, 2021 – Accessing HRAssist from home now requires you to go through the College’s VPN. If you are accessing HRAssist – the College’s full time time and leave system from home – you are now required to go through the VPN (virtual private network). For set up instructions please visit VPN – Virtual Private Network and select Setup Instructions. Note that employees accessing HRAssist from their office PC will not be required to go through the VPN. Should you encounter any difficulties setting up your access through the VPN, please contact the BCTC Helpdesk.

The CUNYFirst Oracle database management software must be upgraded to level 19c to remain current with Oracle software releases, avoid extended maintenance and support costs, and allow for future CUNYFirst system upgrades. There are no new CUNYFirst features or functions associated with this database upgrade – users will access and use CUNYFirst as they did before the upgrade. During this database software upgrade, CUNYFirst will not be available to users and overnight data transfers will not take place.

- July 27, 2021 – CUNYfirst Vaccine Verification Delays – The new CUNYfirst Vaccine Verification page is experiencing delays uploading required documentation due to the sudden high volume of use. CIS is making some changes to improve the user experience and minimize delays experienced with document uploads. Once these changes are completed, the user experience should improve.

- September 7, 2021 – Adobe Creative Cloud License Notification Remediation Process! If you are experiencing a “Your license is expiring” notification in Adobe, please email HelpDesk1@baruch.cuny.edu with “Adobefix” in the subject. Within a few minutes, you will receive a response from our ticketing system. The subject will be your ticket number + Abobefix. This email will contain a link for you to log into your ticket. Log in using your Baruch username and password. After logging in, scroll down to find the instructions and link to download and install the Adobe License Fix.

at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 9.Notes:
• A notification will be sent at the completion of the drill (or if it ends sooner than expected) to announce that CUNYfirst is available again.
• CUNY Login self-service (new user, forgot username, forgot password, manage your account) functions will not be available during the drill,
• CUNYfirst nightly data refreshes and file transfers will not take place while CUNYfirst is unavailable. The regular nightly data and reporting refreshes will resume starting Sunday night, October 10.
• CUNYfirst Reporting instances will not be available until Sunday night, October 10. When the Reporting instances first become available, they will be populated with the data from Thursday night, October 7.
