Guest Access to the Baruch College Wireless Network
General Policy
Access to the Baruch College wireless network requires an account issued through the Baruch Computing and Technology Center (BCTC). Members of the Baruch College community receive their accounts after their affiliation with the college becomes officially effective.
Guests of Baruch College may request guest access to the network at the Computing Help Desk on the 6th floor of the Library & Technology Building (151 East 25th Street). Network access is granted for a 24 hour period, but may be renewed at the discretion of the BCTC. Network access is restricted to the use of Internet based resources.
Newman Library
Users of the Newman Library may request a guest account at the Reference Desk or the Circulation Desk on the second floor of the library. The general policy outlined above also applies to guest accounts that are issued in the library.
Conferences
Conference attendees must have individually assigned guest accounts to access the network. The CUNY Policy on Acceptable Use of Computer Resources prohibits the use of generic accounts and the sharing of individual accounts. Attendees should consult with the conference organizer to obtain an account. Conference organizers should request support from BCTC for issuing guest accounts on the media resources request form. The general policy outlined above also applies to guest accounts that are issued to conference attendees.
