BCTC News: Act Now: Effective September 25, Zoom Cloud Storage Files Older Than 120 Days Will Be Deleted

    Dear Colleagues,

CUNY is approaching its Zoom cloud storage limit as specified in our enterprise contract. To prevent us from surpassing our storage allocation, please be advised that effective Wednesday, Sept. 25, files in Zoom cloud storage older than 120 days will be deleted.

To avoid losing any files on Sept. 25, please start managing your Zoom cloud storage files now.

How to Manage Your Zoom Cloud Storage

    • Log in to the Zoom web portal at cuny.zoom.us.
    • In the navigation menu, click “Recordings and Transcripts.”
    • Click the “Cloud Recordings” tab.
    • Delete unnecessary files.
      1. Click on the meeting topic that you want to delete.
      2. Click the “Delete” option.
    • Download files you wish to retain to your Microsoft 365 OneDrive, CUNY Dropbox, or your S:\Drive.
      1. Click on the meeting topic that you want to download.
      2. Click the “Download option.”
    • Disable automatic meeting recordings and only record necessary meetings.
      1.  In the navigation menu, click “Settings.”
      2. Click the “Recording” tab.
      3. Click the “Automatic Recording” toggle to disable it.
      4. If a verification dialog appears, click “Disable” to verify the change.
    • Set automatic recordings to save to Microsoft 365 OneDrive or CUNY Dropbox.
      1. Open the Zoom desktop client, and click “Settings” (the gear icon at top-right of the screen).
      2.  Click the “Recording” tab.
      3. Change the value of the “Store my recording at:” field.

If your course materials link to any of the recordings saved in Zoom cloud storage, please remember to update those links after you have downloaded the file to another cloud location.
