    Student Experience with Baruchmail

Having an Office365 account means you will have access to many of the cloud-based offerings in Microsoft’s Office suite. You can use your account to login to www.office365.com and begin creating your own Word, Powerpoint, Excel and OneNote documents online immediately. This means increased collaboration for you and your peers.

Do I have a Microsoft account or an Organizational Account?
When attempting to login and use services on Office365.com or office.microsoft.com, you are asked if you are using a Microsoft account or an Organizational account. Your BaruchMail account is known as an Organizational account. Please select this option. You may be asked to login again to SkyDrive to access your documents.

What if I forget my password?
Now, you no longer have to take an extra trip to the Help Desk to reset your password. You can reset your password online on the sign in page. Click on “Can’t access your account?” and follow the simple instructions on the screen.

    Who is eligible for Office365?

All currently registered undergraduate and graduate students. Students enrolled in Adult and Continuing Education course will also receive an Office365 e-mail account in the near future. Faculty, staff and alumni are not eligible for Office365.

    Is Office365 required?
Yes.  Accounts will be created for you automatically. We highly recommend that you login to your account frequently to review important information sent by your college’s faculty, staff, and administration, some of which might be time sensitive.

How many e-mails can I send per day?
E-mails sent between users within cuny.edu system do not count against your daily maximum. You can send OUT from your Office365 account 500 e-mails per day to addresses outside the CUNY system.

Will someone from Microsoft be reading my e-mail?
No, Microsoft will not read your e-mail. See Microsoft’s statements on this at https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-US/. While an automated process indexes your e-mail content for fast search retrieval, no humans at Microsoft will be looking at your e-mail.
